Special Policies Announced Lifting the Restrictions on Foreign Investment in the Service Sectors in Beijing

Recently, the State Council has promulgated the decisions that for the purpose of further opening the service market to foreign investment, several rules that restrict the foreign investment are lifted temporarily from now until May 5, 2018. Accordingly, it is allowed to establish eligible Sino-foreign joint venture travel agencies in Beijing Municipality that engage in the traveling abroad business for Chinese mainland residents and services of traveling to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region; Particular areas will be designated where it is allowed to establish wholly foreign-owned performance brokerage companies that provide services within the administrative area of Beijing Municipality; cancelling the limitation on the majority shareholding by the Chinese party in foreign-invested aircraft maintenance projects.
